Billions of people across the globe still do not have access to discipleship resources in their own language. As a result, people are living and dying without hearing the Good News, and even those who do hear the Gospel often find themselves without resources that help them connect the dots and grow spiritually.
That’s why we’ve made it our mission to provide discipleship resources to every person—regardless of where they live, what language they speak, or what their financial position looks like.
We believe that when people discover and personalize the Good News, they will become Messengers in their own right, sharing God’s story of redemption and reconciliation through their everyday lives and reaching whatever world God has placed them in.
A vision was birthed in co-founder, John Bevere, when this prophetic word was spoken over him: “I am doing a mighty work… I am preparing an army of men and women to stand with you. I will send you to places that you know not of. You will be a nourishing tree and multitudes will draw strength from the fruit you bear. Nations and peoples will be drawn into the kingdom of God by My word on your lips…”
The prophecy foresaw a collection of men and women who would stand together to reach the nations—discipling everyone, everywhere.
Fast forward to 2021, Messenger International has now given over 41 million resources to pastors and leaders in over 100 nations in over 120 languages. In fact, over 95% of the people alive today speak a language that we have a resource available in.
The 1980 prophecy of reaching peoples and nations is becoming a reality. A global army of men and women have assembled alongside us, and we can sense that God is inviting us to take another collective step of faith—one that will position us to reach everyone, everywhere.
Over the years, we’ve dreamt of a world where everyone—regardless of language, location, or financial position could know…
We pictured a missionary revolution on the digital frontier. A fresh way to go into all the world.
We envisioned a new road. One that defies boundaries. One that connects us all together. One that’s inclusive of all and accessible to all.
We dreamed of a platform that provides relevant and relatable discipleship resources free of charge to everyone, everywhere…
Now leaders all over the world can use their computers, tablets, or phones to train one-on-one or in small groups or churches. This has not only multiplied the effectiveness of the platform, but it will also long outlive a physical book and the foundation that powers the technology will endure for generations to come.
Our methods have changed, but our mission has not.
It’s more than a message, it’s a movement.
“When you put on a luncheon or a banquet,” He [Jesus] said, “don’t invite your friends, brothers, relatives, and rich neighbors. For they will invite you back, and that will be your only reward. Instead, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind. Then at the resurrection of the righteous, God will reward you for inviting those who could not repay you.”
The people we invest in may not all be crippled, lame, or blind, but our tie to this parable is that they cannot repay us. All team members—marketplace givers, church leaders, and Messenger International staff—realize that we have a great privilege: to give without expecting any compensation from those we’ve helped.
The mission to make resources available to every person, regardless of their location, language, or financial position, is much bigger than any one of us. This specific call began with a vision given to John in 1980, but it can only be outworked through all of us—banding together to disciple all nations.
Thank you for your faith, hope, and love. Your seeds of prayer and generosity are writing new stories and forming new legacies.
